Topic: Main Street Bridge

Construction is underway for the new Main Street Bridge across the Scioto River in downtown Columbus. The bridge will be a unique structure having an inclined, single-rib tied arch. This structure will be the first of it’s kind in the United States, and one of only a few in the world.

Mr. Siebert will present an overview of the design of this signature bridge and discuss several of its unique features. He will also share pictures of selected construction activities and artist renderings of the final bridge.

After the presentation, we will go outside and visit the site, which is right next door to COSI. Tom Graf with Kokosing and Jim Welter with ODOT will describe the project's construction. Please wear appropriate footwear and bring a hard hat if you have one.

CPD Hours: 1 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hour certificate will be issued at the conclusion of the program.

Cost: $20 ASCE Members and Guests ($15 Life Members and $10 Students)
There is also a $4 charge for parking.

Menu: Buffet style including fruit salad, tossed salad, rolls and butter, roasted rosemary red potatoes, steamed fresh vegetable medley with lemon butter, sauteed seasoned chicken breast with cream sauce, baked ziti with marinara sauce, and cookies.
