Rich Street Bridge Precast/Prestressed Concrete Tour

Please join us for a complimentary tour of Prestress Services Industries, LLC’s Grove City plant as they make the prestressed/post-tensioned concrete beams and precast/post-tensioned concrete arches for the new Rich Street Bridge in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The new Rich Street Bridge will replace the earthen-filled concrete arch Town Street Bridge, built in 1917, with a modern, concrete rib-arch bridge composed of five spans over the Scioto River. The bridge is designed to complement the adjacent bridges and will include 10-foot sidewalks, three traffic lanes, and plazas on each bank. Groundbreaking was held in March, 2010, and the new bridge is expected to be complete in the summer of 2011.

Dress: Hard hats, safety glasses, and work shoes will be required. Dress as you would when visiting any active construction site.

PDH Credits: Certificates for 2 PDH credits will be distributed after the tour.
